THE CLOUD
Pause. Enter into the stillness of God
within.
Reading: “The cloud covered the Tent and the
glory of the Lord filled th Tabernacle.” (Exodus40:16…38)
Reflection. The presence of God among the
journeying Israelites was in the form of a cloud. It was constantly there. It
only appeared once in the gospels as God was present among them in the person
of Jesus.Today the cloud is no longer visible but it is there in the sense of
the hidden presence of God among us. A presence real but invisible. The cloud
is there to guide our journey. It is constantly with us.We are called to see it
and to see through it – as the author of the fourteenth century Cloud of Unknowing would have us do.
Prayer. Lord Jesus, you are constantly
with us. Give us eyes to penetrate and to see. Amen.
