A GREAT
LIGHT
Pause. Enter into the stillness of God
within.
Reading: “The people who walked in darkness
has seen a great light.” (Isaiah 9:1-6)
Reflection. Eight days after the Assumption the
Church celebrates the glory of Mary in heaven. It is a moment to ponder her participation
in the mission of her Son, her triumph and her power. Esther had saved her
people by interceding with the king and Mary now continually intercedes for the
people of God on their journey, Her total acceptance of God’s plan for his
people has led to her becoming the one who manifests now what the Church is and
will become fully in the future. With reverence and love we turn to her.
Prayer. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord
is with you … Pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
