WE KNOW WHERE HE COMES FROM (John 7:1…30)
As confrontation mounts between the Jews and Jesus they cling to
what they know of him and stop searching.
They settle for something less because it is more comfortable and does
not demand much from them. So, ‘we know where he comes from: Nazareth in
Galilee’. And they end there. But Jesus
comes from the Father and he has come to lead them and all people back to the
Father who is the source of life. They
don’t want to struggle with this message.
It is too threatening to them. So
they settle for something less and miss out on the ‘fullness of life’ (John
10:10).
