TIME TO GO
SEEKING
Pause. Enter into the stillness of God
within.
Reading: “Break up your fallow ground; it is
time to go seeking the Lord.” (Hosea 10:1…12)
Reflection. After denouncing the behaviour of the
people Hoses calls them to a new start. “It is time” to begin something new;
and in the gospel today (Matt 10:1-7) we have Jesus’ words, “the kingdom of
heaven is close at hand.” These invitations are what call us to new creativity,
new exploration, no matter what our circumstances or age. The gift God gives us
is to “turn and turn again” (Yeats) and “your young men shall see visions and
your old men will dream dreams.” (Joel 3:1-5). The message is ever new and ever
exciting.
Prayer. Lord, give us the energy to always be
inventive, creative, seeking to reach out and build your kingdom. Amen
