PRAYER PAUSE
Friday 4
June 2016. The Immaculate Heart of Mary
FRESH
THINGS GROW
Pause. Enter into the stillness of God
within.
Reading: “For as the Lord makes fresh things
grow, as a garden makes seeds spring up, so will the Lord make both integrity
and praise spring up in the sight of the nations.” (Isaiah 61:9 -11)
Reflection. Where I live there is large field and
every six months it hosts a new crop, nourished either by rain or by
irrigation. Each time new life appears as the shoots push their way to the
light. We pause for a moment today to remember Mary’s “pondering in her heart”
the things she witnessed and how all her experience purified her heart so that
she could accept fully the brimming of new life. We struggle to give light to
the “freshness deep down things” as we fearfully strew our life with conditions
and reservations. She would have none of that.
Prayer. Mary, Mother, full of grace, pray for
us now and at the hour... Amen
